There are a number of factors that put people at higher risk, and these affect almost one in four Australians. Who is eligible for COVID-19 antiviral medicines?*
50-69 years
With 2 risk factors for severe disease
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
30 years or older with 1 risk factor for severe disease
Immunocompromised
18 years or older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised
Previous COVID-19 hospitalisation
Any person 18 years or older who has had a previous admission to hospital due to COVID-19

If you or someone you care about are at high-risk of getting very sick from COVID-19, it’s important to talk to your GP now and make a plan.
Be sure to have plenty of at-home COVID-19 tests, and keep an up-to-date list of any medications you are taking. It can also help to identify your nearest pharmacy to fill your prescriptions, and have someone you can call on if you need support.

Tested positive to COVID-19? Now is the time to act fast and put your plan into action.
Even if your symptoms are mild, don't wait. They can quickly become severe. Call your GP or arrange a telehealth consultation via Health Direct as soon as you test positive.

Recognise the symptoms
COVID-19 hasn’t gone away. If you experience any of these symptoms, act fast and take a rapid antigen test (RAT) or contact your GP to get a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as soon as possible.
